Welcome to my thesis presentation website. I’m Kam McCarthy, an MFA candidate in Media Design, and I’m excited to share the development of No Strings: a handcrafted wooden art toy brand that blends rustic craftsmanship with pop art energy. This thesis project explores the intersection of design, culture, and consumer psychology, focusing on how nostalgia, storytelling, and sustainable practices can transform a product into a meaningful collectible.

 

Through this work, I’ve refined my design process to balance artistry with strategy by building a visual identity that not only looks striking but also resonates emotionally with its audience. No Strings is rooted in the belief that great design is invisible, letting the craft, narrative, and personality of each piece speak for itself.
